Guiness World Records Museum in Copenhagen

How tall is the tallest person in the world? Or the shortest? What other world records do the Danes house? Uncover the world's most fascinating accomplishments at the Guinness World Records Museum in Copenhagen!

Just a short distance away from Nyhavn Canal is one of Copenhagen's most curious and interactive museums: the Guinness World Records Museum. Some of the world's most iconic records are recreated throughout its many rooms with images, videos, original costumes, and interactive games.

The Guinness World Records is home to an interactive room where visitors can challenge themselves to surpass current record holders in various categories: fastest completed Rubik's cube, tallest house of cards, etc.

The Strangest World Records

  • Oldest flag in the world: The Danes proudly claim themselves the owner of a historic Danish flag, which is over seven centuries old.
  • The tallest man in the World: with all 272 centimeters (8 feet, 9 inches) of him, U.S. citizen Robert Pershing Wadlow took the title of tallest man on Earth.
  • Most people fit into a telephone booth: the Danes take the title again, with a packed-to-the-gills telephone booth full of 20 students.
  • Longest-lived person in the world: French native Jeanne Calment outlived her daughter and grandson when she reached 122 years of age.
  • World's Biggest Pumpkin: 960 kilos (15,344 lbs) of pumpkin!

Interesting, but not a must-see

While the Guinness World Records Museum is entertaining, especially for those traveling with children, many other institutions are around in Copenhagen. We recommend checking out other museums first, like the National Gallery of Denmark or Thorvaldsen Museum.

Moreover, many of the objects on exhibit are only replicas of accomplishments, and some interactive exhibits require an additional fee.
